Gugulethu Sophie Mbatha - also popularly known as Gugu - is a British stage actress and film actor. She gained fame after starring in the BBC's 'Doctor Who', a British science-fiction television show. Gugu's part in the show as Tish Jones became very well-known. Tish Jones is the younger sister of Martha Jones. The audience loved Gugu's bright spontaneity. There was no turning going back to her wonderful performance career! The mother of Handler was a homemaker and her father was employed as a used car dealer. Her mother is German who came into her home in United States from Germany in 1958. Handler was diagnosed with breast cancer in the year 1989. She died after battling cancer for the past ten years. Handler is a reform Jew, and her father was Jewish. Handler lived in a great neighborhood with a happy upbringing. When she was 19 she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career. Handler was forced to become an actress to live. Her ability to tell stories was uncovered at 21. Handler then decided to devote her full-time career to stand-up comedy. Beginning Of career Handler began her stand-up career as a member of the Oxygen network, which was an all-female cast on a hidden camera/practical joke reality television series Girls Behaving Poorly. It ran from 2002 until 2005. The handler appeared in several shows, including Weekends at D.L. The Bernie Mac Show The Practice and My Wife and Kids. Handler was a part of The Tonight Show for a time as a reporter. Her breakthrough was in 2006 when she began hosting her show on E! called The Chelsea Handler show.
